Calculator methods and examples

Check each tool’s assumptions before using it. Example figures are not current prices or personal advice.

Where Has My Time Gone?

What is it for?

Enter your age and the daily hours spent sleeping, using screens and working. The calculation assumes these averages stayed constant throughout your life. Activities can overlap, such as working at a screen.

Calculation method

Days = age × 365.2425. Days × hours per day / 24 are calculated for each event. In year notation, it is divided by 365.25.

Example and interpretation

At age 30, an assumed 8 hours of sleep each day corresponds to about 10 years asleep. This does not measure your actual routine since childhood. Activities may overlap, so do not add their totals to calculate your lifespan.

How Much Water Have You Drunk?

What is it for?

It produces cumulative volume from the daily amount of drinking water you assume with your age. The simplification that the same amount is drunk in childhood is also used.

Calculation method

Liters = age × 365.25 × liters per day. It is divided by 19 for a carboy, 150 for a bathtub, and 0.5 for a bottle.

Example and interpretation

For age 20 and 2 liters per day, this comes to 14,610 liters. This is not a measurement of past consumption or a recommendation for daily water needs; the result is the sum of the average you assumed.

Time Spent in Traffic

What is it for?

Enter total daily travel minutes, travel days per week and the number of years. Use the round-trip duration when relevant.

Calculation method

Hours = year × 52 × weekly days × daily minutes / 60. The day equivalent is displayed as 24 hours and the working day equivalent is expressed as 8 hours.

Example and interpretation

At 60 minutes a day, 5 days a week for 10 years, the total is 2,600 hours, or about 108.3 full days. Holidays, leave and remote-working days are not automatically deducted.

My Coffee Counter

What is it for?

Enter coffees bought per week, years of this habit, price per coffee and a comparison price per square metre. Home-made coffee is not automatically included.

Calculation method

Coffees = years × 52 × coffees per week. Cost = coffees × unit price. Floor-area equivalent = cost / price per m².

Example and interpretation

Over 10 years, 3 coffees per week at TRY 120 gives 1,560 coffees and TRY 187,200. At TRY 50,000/m², this equals 3.744 m². Applying today’s price to the past does not measure actual past spending or the ability to buy a home.

What If You Had Saved That Money?

What is it for?

Enter packs per day, price per pack, years and a hypothetical annual return. The scenario assumes the savings are invested at the end of each month.

Calculation method

Monthly contribution A = packs per day × price per pack × 30.4375; months n = years × 12; monthly rate r = annual percentage / 1200. Total = A × ((1+r)^n−1) / r; if r=0, use A × n.

Example and interpretation

For 1 year, 1 package per day, 100 TL and 0% return, 36,525 TL is calculated. The assumption of positive returns is not an investment promise; price change, taxes, possibility of loss and inflation are not taken into account.

How Much Time Goes to Screens?

What is it for?

Enter daily screen hours and how many years the habit has lasted. Age is not a multiplier here; the number of years of the habit determines the duration.

Calculation method

Total hours = hours per day × 365.25 × habit years. The equivalent of a book is 6 hours, a language course is 600 hours, and walking is 4 km/hour.

Example and interpretation

For 2 hours a day and 5 years, there are 3,652.5 hours, approximately 152.2 days. Not all screen use is wasted time; Work, learning and communication may also occur during this time. Equivalents are no guarantee of success.

Your Binge-Watching Report

What is it for?

Enter the total episodes, average episode length in minutes and years spent watching. Use an approximate average if episode lengths vary.

Calculation method

Hours = episodes × minutes per episode / 60. Full days = hours / 24; days per year = full days / years. The book comparison assumes 6 hours per book.

Example and interpretation

100 episodes of 45 minutes watched over 2 years equal 75 hours, 3.125 full days, or about 1.56 days per year. Ads and breaks count only if you included them in the episode length.

Your Age in Heartbeats and Orbits

What is it for?

Produces a magnitude comparison from age and assumed average heart rate. No actual heart or respiratory recording is used.

Calculation method

Days = age × 365.25. Total heartbeats = days × average beats per minute × 1440. Earth’s orbital distance = age × 940,000,000 km. Breaths are estimated as days × 20,000.

Example and interpretation

For 1 year of age and an average of 60 beats/minute, there are 31,557,600 beats. Actual heart rate changes over time; The breath and orbit figures are also simplifications. These are not personal health measurements.

Your Lifetime Sleep Estimate

What is it for?

Your age, daily sleep hours, and daily food weight are used as constant averages. You must take into account the changes of previous periods yourself.

Calculation method

Sleeping days = age × 365.25 × sleeping hours / 24. Food ton = age × 365.25 × kg per day / 1000. Dreaming hours are considered 20% of sleeping hours.

Example and interpretation

Age 30 and 8 hours of sleep daily give about 10 years asleep. Assuming 1 kg of food daily gives 10.9575 tonnes. Dreaming time is a playful estimate based on a fixed factor, not a measurement.

Your Dating Budget

What is it for?

Enter the monthly meal quantity and price, annual gift total, and monthly coffee/cinema budget. It is used to compare your personal budget.

Calculation method

Annual budget = monthly number of meals × meal price × 12 + annual gifts + monthly coffee/cinema × 12.

Example and interpretation

2 meals × 500 TL per month, 2,000 TL gifts per year and 300 TL other expenses per month; It makes 17,600 TL per year. Flight tickets and weekend equivalents are assumed to be fixed 8,000 and 15,000 TL and are not current offers.

What Else Could a Wedding Budget Buy?

What is it for?

Add venue/event, jewellery and household furnishing costs, then compare the total with your chosen holiday budget. Do not enter the same expense twice.

Calculation method

Total = venue/event + jewellery + furnishings. Holidays = total / budget per holiday. Monthly savings equivalent = total / 60.

Example and interpretation

300,000 + 250,000 + 200,000 TL = 750,000 TL. It is equivalent to 5 holidays with a holiday of 150,000 TL or 12,500 TL per month for 60 months. The retention of value of the jewelry, gift income and debt interest are not included in this comparison.

Your Effective Hourly Earnings

What is it for?

Enter the monthly net salary, daily working hours, travel and preparation minutes. It compares the monetary value of the total time you spend on work.

Calculation method

Monthly time = [working hours + (travel minutes + preparation minutes)/60] × 22. Hourly compensation = salary / monthly time.

Example and interpretation

44,000 TL salary, 8 hours of work, 60 minutes of travel and 60 minutes of preparation; 220 hours per month and 200 TL/hour. 22 working days are fixed; It is not a payroll hourly rate, overtime entitlement or statutory wage calculation.

Your Gaming Time and Budget

What is it for?

Enter total gaming hours, money spent on games and hypothetical hourly earnings from another activity. Time and actual spending are shown separately.

Calculation method

Full day = hours / 24; alternative earnings = hours × hourly earnings; business days = hours / 8. Game expense is the amount you entered.

Example and interpretation

240 hours, 3,000 TL expenditure and 100 TL/hour assumption; 10 full days, 30 working days and 24,000 TL alternative earnings. This amount is not actual lost revenue; It is assumed that a job will be found or worked during those hours.

Football Salary Comparison

What is it for?

Enter the annual income to be compared with your own monthly salary in the same currency. The tool itself does not bring publicly available current income data.

Calculation method

Seconds = monthly salary / [annual income / (365.25 × 86400)]. Daily football player income is the annual income divided by 365.25.

Example and interpretation

A monthly salary of TRY 1,000 and comparison annual income of TRY 31,557,600 give 1,000 seconds. Income is assumed to accrue evenly throughout the year; this is not pay per second played, take-home income or a contractual payment schedule.
