Germany parental-leave income timeline
Plan household cash flow across leave months using confirmed Elterngeld or ElterngeldPlus estimates and expected work income.
Your inputs
Start with the example values, then replace them with your own. For tables, keep the vertical bar separators and use a dot for decimals.
Illustrative inputs are not certified current rates or an entitlement decision. Confirm the country, year, eligibility and contract. This limited model is not a tax return, payroll service or financial/legal advice. Do not act on it without verifying the applicable rules.
Tool inputs are processed in your browser and are not submitted by this tool. Existing site analytics and advertising services have their own privacy terms.

How it works
For each month, add employment pay and the entered benefit, then subtract spending. Summing monthly surpluses exposes gaps between phases. This is not an entitlement engine: eligibility, replacement rates, partner months, benefit interactions and caps must be checked separately.
Worked example
These sample results use the original example inputs in the form. They do not change when you edit your inputs; your own result appears in the workspace.
- Total modeled surplus: 300
| Month | Net employment pay | Confirmed parental benefit | Household spending | Surplus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1000 | 1500 | 2400 | 100 |
| 2 | 1000 | 1500 | 2400 | 100 |
| 3 | 1800 | 700 | 2400 | 100 |
Read the result carefully
Results depend on the values and assumptions shown above. Change one input at a time to see its effect. A blank or unavailable result means the data does not support a calculation; it is not zero.
